Public Art at The Meyerson

 

Proverb - Mark di Suvero, located on the Northwest side of the Meyerson.

Irises and Tulips I and II, by David Bates, located in the Hart Symphony Suites.

De Musica, by Eduardo Chillida, located in the Betty B. Marcus Park on the West side of the Meyerson, commissioned and donated by Frank Ribelin.

Sacrifice III, by Jacques Lipschitz, and Les Ondines, by Henri Lauren, also in the Betty B. Marcus Park, on long term loan by Gwen Weiner.

Blue Green Black Red: The Dallas Panels, by Ellsworth Kelly, on the North wall of the main lobby, near the entrance to the Green Room, commissioned by the Art Committee.

George Gershwin by Andy Warhol, (1980) located in the Green Room, on permanent loan by Miss Laurel Ornish, purchased for the Meyerson's opening in 1989.

The Old Violin, a chromo-lithograph by William Harnett, in the Music Director's Suite, given by the Art Committee.

Navajo textiles, hung in the musician's lounge and throughout the Symphony's administrative offices, given by the Art Committee.

 

As with De Musica and The Dallas Panels, ownership of the David Bates pieces is part of the City of Dallas Public Art Collection.
